| Another Arthur Hills Design |
I have had the priviledge of reviewing each of Oakland Counties five golf courses since last summer and enclosed is a link to each of the reviews. All but Lyon Oaks have the same characteristics. Short, scorable and plenty of fun to play. Lyon Oaks is the jewel course due to the layout, length and unique design by Arthur Hills who has designed many courses in Michigan and elsewhere. Some of his designs include Fieldstone, Boyne and many others such as Golden Fox at Fox Hills, Oakhurst Country Club and a couple of hundred others. Lyon Oaks is a must play destination and find out why in the review below. Paul Simpson is the PGA Professional and a link to his interview is in the review. http://oaklandgolfscene.blogspot.com/2012/05/lyon-oaks-is-anarthur-fields-design.html
Springfields Oaks in Springfield Township near Clarkston is a tight treelined course with an abundance of wildlife and scorable holes that alternate with tight ones where you just take your par or worse and move on.

Glen Oaks in Farmington is a short but very fun course where you have drivable holes, three holes where you shoot over a creek where you hold your breath as it is make it or bust and some very pretty holes.

Red Oaks in Madison Heights is not an executive course nor close to a full length course but the par threes are challenging and the course will help you work on your short game.

Finally, White Lake Oaks in White Lake is very wide open on the front side but things really tighten up on the back. Three holes really stand out on the back. Read about them at the review below.

The Oakland County Parks constantly have programs for all golfers and run tournaments for seniors. The link below has programs, contact information and will answer most if not all questions that you have. http://www.destinationoakland.com/parksandtrails/golf/Pages/default.aspx
