PGA Championship Trivia and FAQs

The PGA Championship is coming up - and you can catch it all right here on CBS   Here are some frequently asked questions and some PGA Championship trivia.
What does the tournament begin and end?
The actual tournament starts Thursday, August 11 and ends Sunday, August 14.

When will the players arrive in Johns Creek?
Players begin arriving on Monday and Tuesday.  On Tuesday at noon, Tiger Woods will address the media.

When will CBS air coverage of the tournament?
On Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.  On Friday, the special will air at 6 p.m.   On Saturday and Sunday, CBS Atlanta will carrying the third and final rounds of the PGA Championship.

Admission:
For every adult ticket purchased, kids between under the age of 17 get in free.   With valid I.D., active military personnel and military veterans also get free admission.

PGA Championship trivia:
This year is the 93rd PGA Championship, and it is the third time the event will be held at the Atlanta
Athletic Club (previous years were 1981 and 2001.)  However, this is the first time that the event will be held in the city of Johns Creek, since it wasn't named a city until 2006.
About 3,500 volunteers will help out with the championship, and 35,000 to 40,000 spectators are expected daily.
                                                                                                                             
Golfers with Georgia ties:
-Stewart Cink – Duluth, GA.  Cink graduated from GA Tech in 1995. 
-Larry Nelson – Marietta, GA.  Nelson was the PGA Championship Winner 1981 and 1987.  He also received the PGA Distinguished Service Award this year.
-Craig Stevens - Instructor at Steel Canyon in Sandy Springs, GA.  This is Stevens' third trip to the PGA Championship, including appearances in 2001 and 2002.
-Matt Kuchar - St. Simons Island, GA.  Kuchar graduated from Georgia Tech in 2000.
-Chris Kirk - Sea Island, GA.  Kirk graduated from UGA in 2007.
-Bubba Watson - Bagdad, FL.  Watson graduated from UGA in 2008
-Heath Sloclum – Alpharetta, GA
-Jonathan Byrd - Sea Island, GA
-Davis Love III - Sea Island, GA.  Love won the PGA Championship in 1997.
-Lucas Glover -Sea Island, GA
