Nathan Zoulek wins his age group for the 3rd Straight Year

     Quite often in sports the more experience you have usually gives you an advantage against less seasoned foes. That was not the case at Kensington Metro Park during the Junior Golf Championships. Golfers were divided into four different age groups and with boys and girls both competing, there were eight different medalists and you would have to look into both the boys and girls lower divisions to find the low scores for the day. Julia Dean put together scores of 37-38 for a (+3) and won her age group by a large margin. Conversely for the boys, Brandon Reedy (Dearborn) won the boys age 15-16 division and his posted score of 74 was the low score all day at the 6150 yard course.  Reedy putter was his magic wand on the day. “Today it was my putting,” said Reedy. “It was way better than normal.”  In the girls 17-18 age division Elizabeth Higgins won her age group by a large margin and in the 15-16 age group Alexandra Fischer  put together a round of 79 but only won while Piumi Jayatilake.

The boys 13-14 age division was hotly contested with Alec Horvath and Janith Jayatilake sharing medalist honors with an 82. But the big news comes from Nathan Zoulek who attends OLSM. He has won this tournament three years running after his 76 was good enough to win over Mike Dennis who put together a round of 79. "Not getting too excited and not getting too down as I was trying to use the power of positive thinking," said Zoulek.
