"We are very happy to be involved with getting volunteers for the U.S. Senior Open at Indianwood, which will be one of the feature summer events this year in Oakland County and our entire region," said John Ziraldo, President and CEO of Lighthouse of Oakland County. "Our volunteers are a crucial resource for us at Lighthouse, providing us with everything from office support to collecting food and personal goods for our clients at area events to utilizing their many talents in serving on our boards and various event committees. It's great that we can offer our volunteers this opportunity to see some of the world's greatest golfers up close while helping to raise money that supports our clients' needs, which in turn helps clients to achieve a level of self-sufficiency. We appreciate everything that the USGA and Indianwood are doing for Lighthouse and the financial support from a portion of concession proceeeds they have generously offered."
I have done this is a volunteer for Easter Seals when they were a charity at the Buick Open at Wawick Hills and it is a lot of fun. The operative word is volunteer as there is no pay but there usually is a meeting with the winner of the tournament and a dinner. Refreshments and food are provided for those that get involved. Details on how to do just that are below. Keith
Aldridge, US Senior Open Tournament Director said Andiamo's catering deserves an assist for partnering with the Lighthouse. "I am very pleased that Andiamo’s Catering has chosen Lighthouse to be the main charity for the Sr. Open this summer. Lighthouse played a big roll with Ryder Cup and PGA, they will do a great job with concessions tents," said Aldridge.
To volunteer, information on contacting the Lighthouse is below.
